How to Measure
Getting the right fit matters. Whether you're ordering chef whites, aprons, or front-of-house wear, a few simple measurements ensure you are comfortable and look professional. Use this guide to measure accurately and choose the correct size every time.
Steps to Measure Your Head
Position the Tape
Place the measuring tape around your head, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) above your eyebrows and just above your ears. This is typically the widest part of your head.
Wrap Evenly
Keep the tape level all the way around your head. Make sure it’s snug but not tight - it should rest comfortably against your skin without compressing your hair.
Read the Measurement
Note the number where the tape meets. Record it in centimetres or inches, depending on your preference.
Double-Check
Measure twice to ensure accuracy. If the two measurements differ, use the larger one.
Steps to Measure Your Neck
Position the Tape
Wrap the measuring tape around the base of your neck, where a shirt collar would naturally sit - just above your collarbone and below your Adam’s apple.
Keep It Level
Make sure the tape is even all the way around your neck and not twisted or slanted.
Check the Fit
The tape should be snug but not tight. You should be able to fit one finger comfortably between your neck and the tape.
Add Ease for Comfort
For dress shirts, add ½ inch (1.25 cm) to your measurement to allow for breathing and movement.
Record the Measurement
Note the number in inches or centimetres, depending on your sizing preference.
Steps to Measure Your Chest
Position the Tape
Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest, typically just under your armpits and across your shoulder blades.
Keep It Level
Make sure the tape is horizontal and even all the way around your torso - not twisted or slanted.
Relax and Breathe Normally
Stand naturally with your arms at your sides. Don’t puff out your chest or hold your breath, as this can distort the measurement.
Check the Fit
The tape should be snug but not tight - it should rest comfortably against your body without compressing your chest.
Record the Measurement
Note the number in inches or centimetres, depending on your sizing preference.
Steps to Measure Your Waist
Find Your Natural Waist
Locate the narrowest part of your torso - usually just above your belly button and below your ribcage.
Wrap the Tape
Place the measuring tape around your waist, keeping it level and snug but not tight.
Breathe Normally
Stand relaxed and breathe out gently before taking the measurement.
Record the Measurement
Note the number in inches or centimetres.
Steps to Measure Your Hips
Find the Fullest Part
Stand with your feet together and wrap the tape around the widest part of your hips and buttocks.
Keep It Level
Ensure the tape stays horizontal all the way around.
Check the Fit
The tape should rest comfortably against your body - not too tight or loose.
Record the Measurement
Write down the number in inches or centimetres.
Steps to Measure Your Inside Leg
Position the Tape
Measure from the top of your inner thigh (where the leg seam of trousers begins) down to your ankle bone.
Stand Straight
Keep your legs slightly apart and stand tall for accuracy.
Record the Measurement
Note the length in inches or centimetres.
